Did Hitler lose the war ?

In October 2022, Josep Borrell, one of the highest-ranking European union members (while addressing future diplomats at the opening of the European Diplomatic Academy in Bruges), Declared that anywhere other than Europe is just a jungle. He subsequently doubled down on his statement in what had been reported as an apology. He seemingly ignored that his (garden) is built from the fortunes and exploitation of the (jungles). Evidently, the concept of the (superior race) is live and well in Europe. It seems that although Nazism as a military force was defeated in Europe, its influence is still in a leadership position. Borrell’s statement is dangerous and alarming coming from someone with such influential status. Clearly, the essence of Nazism is the dehumanizing of the (other) as savage and less worthy in order to justify the brutality inflicted on them, and Josep Borrell did just that.

Mr. Borrel seems to ignore that France, a member of the European Union and a self-proclaimed human rights defender, is exploiting 14 African nations to this current day. These nations’ political will is chained with colonial treaties forcing them to pay France a total of 500 billion dollars annually. In addition, France has the right of refusal to any resource management by these nations. Not to mention the military presence and French companies’ monopoly of essential services. This is a small example of what finances Mr. Borrell's garden!

Props used:

Sheets of fabric, later adjusted in photoshop. The white fabric is chosen to remark its use by the kk clan. Other props are a table, pencil, and chair.

The photoshoot utilized symbolism and figure/movement to bring a narrative.

The Photographs:

The two photographs here aim to bring to the attention that a swastika can transform into a different shape and still be a tool of oppression.

The first photograph:

1- The narrative:

The two arms of the swastika are still present, they assume different forms/shapes, but the effect is still the same, limiting the opportunities of the other. Despite that, the force of defiance and forward movement is symbolized by the raised fist and knee bend, pushing forward despite the restricted space imposed.

2- Technical:

The arm movement was taken as multiple exposures and later aligned in photoshop; side lighting was used to accentuate the muscular lines.

The second photograph

1- The narrative:

When racial discrimination changes shapes, it doesn’t lose power. On the contrary, its pervasive form transforms into a force that focuses on assassinating the character of the (other) rather than physical annihilation. Its most pervasive form is trying to dictate how the (other) is viewed and perceived.

The two fabric bands holding the index and thumb are trying to control, distort or even stop the personal story from being heard. The two opposing (V)s, the fabric and the arm shape and movement, signify the opposing forced

2- Technical:

Employing the triangular figure in the arm emphasizes the focus, which is the hand holding the pencil. Side lighting is also used to demarcate body lines.
